The Tax Mates Inc. ("we", "us") respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

  • Information you send us — your name, email, phone number and message when you use our contact form, book an appointment, or sign up for emails.
  • Client information — when you become a client, the financial and tax information needed to provide our services. This is collected through secure channels, never through this website's forms.
  • Usage data — if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records anonymized information about how pages are used.

Free tools

Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored.

How we use it

To answer your enquiry, schedule appointments, provide services you request, send emails you've consented to, and improve this website. We don't sell personal information.

Email (CASL)

We only send newsletters and reminders to people who have expressly agreed to receive them. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us at info@thetaxmates.com.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Essential: we store your cookie choice and small preferences in your browser.
  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics 4, loaded only if you choose "Accept all".
  • Embedded services: Google Maps (loaded only if you accept or click "Show map") and Calendly on our booking page, which set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.

You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run this site and our practice — such as website hosting (Cloudflare), scheduling (Calendly), form delivery and email. Some may store data outside Canada; where that happens, the information is subject to the laws of those countries.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and protect it with reasonable safeguards.
